The Chicago Manual of Style, the preferred style guide for AACR2 and
similarly the draft RDA, has placed a guide to its citation styles on its
website at http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html

Given that cataloguing and catalogues are for users, and citations (the
RDA term for a definitive reference or name for a resource) are what users
se, construct and get their information from, what should we be doing to
narrow the gap between standard catalogue records and displays and
instances such as the following (from the CMS page):

----------
Cowlishaw, Guy, and Robin Dunbar. Primate Conservation Biology. Chicago:
University of Chicago Press, 2000.

Laumann, Edward O., John H. Gagnon, Robert T. Michael, and Stuart
Michaels. The Social Organization of Sexuality: Sexual Practices in the
United States. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1994.

Lattimore, Richmond, trans. The Iliad of Homer. Chicago: University of
Chicago Press, 1951.

Kurland, Philip B., and Ralph Lerner, eds. The Founders’ Constitution.
Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1987.

as a CD-ROM.
