Hi,

I'm getting such errors from rdiff-backup 1.0.5 in a SL 4.5 system:
SpecialFileError var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock Socket error: AF_UNIX path too long
SpecialFileError var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket Socket error: AF_UNIX path too l
ong

There have been several discussions on this list concerning this.
Of course it is questionable to back up sockets, so there was advice to use
        --exclude-sockets,
but some users found that this only redoubled the problem.

Has there been any work done on this issue lately?

What is the current understanding of and advice on the problem?

Thanks!
