rdiff-backup is a great tool and hides much of the accounting you would keep using rdiff, and while it does use temporary files under the hood, this is transparent to the user. What type of file do you use rdiff-backup for? Replicating real files, or block devices? Incidentally, I wrote a blog entry the other day about streaming using rdiff, ssh, and stdio pipes that you might find useful: http://www.globallinuxsecurity.pro/blog.php -- Eric Wheeler President eWheeler, Inc. dba Global Linux Security www.GlobalLinuxSecurity.pro 503-330-4277 PO Box 14707 Portland, OR 97293 > > Thanks, > Mark Price > > _______________________________________________ > rdiff-backup-users mailing list at rdiff-backup-users@nongnu.org > http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/rdiff-backup-users > Wiki URL: http://rdiff-backup.solutionsfirst.com.au/index.php/RdiffBackupWiki _______________________________________________ rdiff-backup-users mailing list at rdiff-backup-users@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/rdiff-backup-users Wiki URL: http://rdiff-backup.solutionsfirst.com.au/index.php/RdiffBackupWiki
