That's a mistake. It should be $RDBASE/lib; I will fix the wiki. Sorry
about that.

I tend to just leave it wherever I built it, but with the changes that
Gianluca did to allow packaging, it should be possible to do an
installation in /usr/local (or some other standard location). Gianluca
is the one best qualified to provide info about that.
