Hans posted a great "start from scratch" description if you want to install the entire python stack yourself. This shouldn't be necessary if you are willing to use the version of python that comes with Mac OS X. I got a new Macbook last week and I'm having problems getting the RDKit python bindings working properly there: everything builds, but most of the python tests fail, some with segmentation faults.
