Troy,

It is my current understanding that some manufacturers of metal roofing will not warranty their products if clamps are used on the standing seams. The reason given is that clamping the seams prevents the normal movement of the roofing during expansion and contraction. I can't say which company it is, but it's a big one.

I was wondering what issues people have had screwing/bolting mounting feet to a metal roof with thermal expansion.

I was looking at a european roof mounting foot and noticed they cut a hole in the metal roof, and screw the foot to the sheathing using a rubber gasket to make a water tight seal to the metal roof.

Jeff, Joel, William and all,

Thanks for all the input. I think the general consensus is that giving out wholesale price information is not a great business strategy - on this list or anywhere else.

I'm glad the PV pricing thread morphed into Professional Conduct. There was a lot of really good advice in those posts. I think you saved a lot of us "lurkers" some scar - tissue!

Thanks again,

I seem to remember mention a while ago of a quality charge controller that
supports a higher input voltage than 150 V? We would like 175 V.

Hi Peter,

Apollo makes a high voltage 200VOC unit, 80 amps.

And the Classic from Midnight is almost ready to come out if I hear it right.

That will be the MidNite Classic, Peter. They aren't quite ready for production yet, but thaere are promising Beta units in the field. 200 VDC I understand.
