What's the best answer when someone asks if PV Systems are considered separately derived systems?
It still seems to be up to whoever is doing the considering (AHJ), and I don't like that answer. I believe the answer is yes they are. And 690.47 tells us how to ground them. "(C) Systems with Alternating-Current and Direct-Current Grounding Requirements. Photovoltaic systems having dc circuits and ac circuits with no direct connection between the dc grounded conductor and ac grounded conductor shall have a dc grounding system. The dc grounding system shall be bonded to the ac grounding system by one of the methods in (1), (2), or (3)."
