We use Burndy insulated blocks for transitioning with Enphase. Inside the connector they use the same blue silicone that is used in the wet rated twist on's only with a pretty reliable long term connection.They tighten with a hex wrench. They aren't cheap, but security rarely is. They are also not that bad. I think we pay about $5 each for one's that are rated for#14-#8. We easily fit four of these in a 4x4x2 box. If you are doing separate strings they also have three way connectors, slightly larger, but still fairly compact.
