Yes, Bill.I'd recommend going with a Flir.  You should be able to find a
Flir 4 for something around $1,000 on eBay.

 

This tool is invaluable when it comes to identifying hot spots.  Now getting
the manufacturer to do anything about it without pulling the mods out of the
string and testing the *&^% out of them..that's a separate issue.
