I also have several quad XW stacks out there so am familiar with the
challenges. As it happens, two of the inverters at this time are offline and
breakers open, I should have specified that. So the system is actually working
as a dual XW presently. During testing the master inverter was online and the
slave in standby.

As for battery cables, I have 2 pairs of 4/0, twisted, each feeding two
inverters through a PDP.

Customer reports they have a second leaf blower of another brand that works
fine. I have suggested just replacing the problematic unit with one we know
works, as chasing this down could eat up a lot of time.

Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] XW6848 inverter leaf blower problem load

The XW should be limited to 3 inverters. I've been there twice.

I think the issue has to do with four of those inverter transformers in
parallel creating a large Inductive load that gets owned by the inductive load
of the reef blower. I guess you could add prescribed AC capacitor to the reef
blower and the issue goes away.

LEDs lights are likely large series strings of direct AC coupled voltage drop
loads and any gap gets displayed.

Thank you,

Maverick

Hello Wrenches,

I Installed a 4 x XW+6848 system with 4,000 Ah UnigyII AGM battery bank in the
spring. New building site, cycle charging with generator presently until next
year for PV installation.

Construction crew of ~15 has been running flawlessly off this system for 6
months with every kind of power tool. 3 buildings serviced from a centralized
power shed.

Homeowner adds a Black & Decker BV6000 leaf blower and problems arise. The
blower starts fine, but most of the LED lights in the facility will flash on
and off twice when the blower starts up. Not a flicker, but an off/on cycle
about 1s each. This behavior extends to other buildings that might be 500'
away. Works fine when running the generator in charge mode (therefore gen
powering loads directly).

Testing this same leaf blower on my own single XW6048 system, with LED lights,
and cannot replicate the issue. Even a small 2kW mod sine inverter in my
service truck runs it fine.

I will put a call into Schneider but am not holding breath for help there.

Any ideas?

Kevin
