JERRY:
I always specify separate breakers per string (175A or 250A, depending
on string ampacity) mounted as close to the battery bank as possible.
And I require that if I am to be engaged for maintenance (planned or
unplanned) after commissioning. Shunt-trip breakers facilitate meeting
Rapid Shutdown requirements.
Separate string breakers make battery maintenance and trouble shooting
so much easier and well worth the first cost investment. Especially so
when you have bad or weak cells/batteries, uneven string
discharge/charge current, and need to isolate the culprit(s).
If I have a maintenance arrangement with the customer, individual string
breakers allow me to quickly/safely perform string/battery SOH (state of
Health) testing with an internal resistance tester and/or a load test on
individual batteries without removing wiring/busbars/etc.

More then two banks require fusing or breakers, its best on anything amount

HI All,
I’m wondering if anyone has a good source for battery buss bar stock.
Either pre made ones or stock I can use to make myself.
It would be for larger Rolls GEL 2v in this case but other battery
sizes/types as well.
thanks
