Hi Jay, Regarding the BMS of various manufactures compared to the inverter manufactuers SOC calcs, my only experience is with a 4 stack Blue Ion System on a Sunny Island system. Its not possible to tweak the Sunny Island SOC system at all except by changing battery type (I'm not totally sure of this). We have found that the Sunny Island thinks the batteries are 15-20% more charged than the integrated eGauge is reporting at the lower SOC states. I find it strange that the SOC algorithm is that far off, but I suspect that is from the very stiff voltage profile of the Lithium. Overall, not a big deal, we have figured out where to set our generator start up.
The Blue Ion app is pretty easy for clients to use and see SOC, but it does require smart phone and at least a local network and Wifi. The Blue Ion eGauge does have an SOC readout.
