I have 2 Array Tech trackers at my house in a narrow N-S canyon.

That said – with today’s cost of modules, more modules are less expensive if
you have the footprint to set them. I did not have the room for ground or roof
mount or for 3 poles and 2 pole mounted trackers fit the bill.

Another issue that the trackers resolved, was our county has reflection
ordinances & the trackers alleviated this issue!

Single axis VS dual axis?

I have dual axis trackers and to be able to park the tracker at the end of the
day in full vertical mode reduces the snow pile up overnight in the winter. In
the summer when we get a lot of wind gusts at night being able to park the
tracker at night in flat [tabletop] mode is desirable.

Location, location, location; Trackers work in snow country probably better
than non-snow country due to their additional benefits. I have installed the
large Wattsun trackers as locked in single axis to reduce the potential damage
from wind on some sites.

The new Wattsun controllers initially were not the easiest item to program but
they have worked flawlessly, I give them 2 thumbs up.

Mac, which mode is being confused elevation or azimuth. What have you replaced
and what does Jeff Grulic say of Wattsun?

The photo sensor I like is the single axis. There really is little need to use
the dual axis for offgrid, in my opinion.

Hi Wrenches,

Does anyone know of a non-sensor based tracker controller that can work with a
variety of tracker motors?

We don't do trackers much but we have a WattSun DuraTrak controller that has
never worked well, we've tried all sorts of tweaks. Its a tougher location
that a lot because there are high snowy peaks that confuse the tracker I guess.

It seems like something would be out there that would just use the sun position
equation instead of sensors that can be confused.

Thanks for your input
