Those dinosaur Trace PV series inverters REQUIRE that isolation transformer between it and the AC tie-in. As in, it cannot be removed.
So a big question is whether the two inverters are in good working order, right? I’ve got inverters of that vintage still operating in the field. One of the common failure modes is the cooling fan failing. Which is an easy enough repair.
