I’m facing this same issue. In the past we’ve used the old SQD disco’s near
the inverter and fuses in combiners near the array, but they’re big and
expensive.

Anyone used these or see any issue with these:

Or these:

Seems like a nice clean and not terribly expensive option. Totally agree that
Schneider should have provided us with a solution in the PDP.

I must caution those who are considering the use of touch safe fuse holders in
distribution panels. If one of those fuse holders were to be opened under load
you will very likely have a fire. Always be sure to only install touch safe
fuse holders in such a manner that they cannot be opened by un trained
personnel, Those fuse holders are not load break rated.

Michael:

This seems like a rather stunning oversight—offering a charge controller
without any means to integrate it into the BOS built by the same manufacturer.

Just now I laid a 600 VDC rated touch-safe fuse holder over a QOU breaker. The
fuse holder is smaller than the breaker so it would fit in the PDP. The fuse
holder would be a bit recessed which may look awkward and impede the opening of
the fuse holder. I do know you can buy DIN rail of varying height. Maybe you
could drill out the rivets on the DIN rail and replace a short section of it
with high profile DIN Rail and make a somewhat elegant solution???

Good luck.

Thanks guys,
Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Curious that Schneider
doesn’t have higher voltage input breakers.

Hi Mike

No breakers I know of that fit the Conext boxes but you could use a MidNite Big
Baby and a MidNite 600 volt breaker in it or even a touch safe 1000 volt fuse
and holder they’re DIN rail

Supply chain crunches brought on by the pandemic and Omicron’s toll on the
workforce are causing shortages of goods. Most analysts agree that rising
prices — not just in the US, but also across the world — are largely
consequences of the Covid-19 crisis rather than policy errors by governments or
central banks.
Infectious waves have closed factories in Asian manufacturing hubs and caused
chaos in transporting products to US markets, creating a spike in demand. Also
Americans have cash to burn after two years of canceled vacations, closed
restaurants and working from home, a major factor supercharging the price
surge.

Wrenches,

Can anyone direct me to PV input breakers that are rated up to 600VDC that
would work in a Conext Distribution Panel? From what I can tell, Schneider only
offers breakers up to 160VDC.

Thanks,
Michael
