Hi Jay, Is it a long wire length? I had a similar issue with a Aquavar Solo2 pump controller recently where the float switch was not turning the pump off. The wire length from the float switch to the pump controller was over 300ft and ran underneath an electric line. I believe that a small (2V) was being induced into the control wiring and that 2V signal appeard as a closed circuit to the pump controller. I used the float switch to control an external contactor. The external contactor switched a short length of wire on the pump controller's dry contactor and that resolved the issue.

Jay, I agree it’s probably a controller failure but double check your float wiring, especially if it’s been in service for awhile. The current required to activate that circuit is minuscule.
