I can confirm the part about needing a Kohler dealer to get into some functions. I recently removed a transfer switch for a Kohler and converted it to a two-wire start (which was dead easy), but I could not get it to stop throwing an error stating that the transfer switch was not found. It did not affect the automatic start functionality whatsoever, but the error message was annoying. I told the homeowner he would need to get his Kohler dealer out there to stop the message, but I never heard if or how that was done. I could not get into the menus to figure it out.
