Have you tried the double stripping insulation method? Cut the insulation needed and remove minus 1/4" Then cut a 1/4” wide piece so it will slide on the copper. slide it to the end or with just a small mount of copper sticking out and that should allow the wire to slide into the fitting. Then push the 1/4” part back so it slides all the way and cut it off when easy.
I sure hate when companies can’t figure out metric from SAE sizes. Doesn’t provide a lot of confidence. > On Jan 22, 2026, at 6:23 AM, Travis Knipple via RE-wrenches > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi wrenches, > The Renon Xcellent Plus battery unit has a special connector that is rated > for 2/0 CU battery cables, but when trying to build cable with fine-stranded > copper (type MTW), it is extremely difficult to get all the strands into the > connector (and is a known complaint to their tech support) > Anyhow have any tips or tricks for fitting finely stranded copper conductors > into this connector? > > -Travis > > -- > Travis Knipple > Senior Engineer > Hudson Solar Solutions LLC > Rhinebeck, NY 12572 > 518-539-8040 x408 | [email protected] > <mailto:[email protected]> > > > PVIP# PV-111821-013612 > _______________________________________________ > List sponsored by Redwood Alliance > > Pay optional member dues here: http://re-wrenches.org > > List Address: [email protected] > > Change listserver email address & settings: > http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org > > There are two list archives for searching.
