I was hoping to do an up coming job with MidNite Solar (MNSSR-600SS)
string level shut down. However, I just learned that the product has
been discontinued. I'm moving forward with AP smart because I don't
have time to mess with it.
However, I have several questions.
Will a similar new product take its place?
If a string level shut down device is available again will that satisfy
690.12 code requirements for roof mounted residential under NEC 2023 or
NEC 2026 on it's own? Or does UL3741 come into play?
For example, would a MidNite AIO with Unirac NXT racking (which is
UL3741) with string level shut down and of course wiring everything nice
and neat with appropriate listed wire management comply with NEC under
2023 or 2026 code?
I'm just trying to figure out if string level shut down is a viable
option with new code cycles or if it is a waste of time.
thank you
