At this time Midnite Solar does not have a replacement for the string level RSD on our roadmap. With the new UL requirement for double redundancy failsafe requiring substantial design change the decision was made to no longer push forward in that market.

However, I just learned that the product has been discontinued. I'm moving forward with AP smart because I don't have time to mess with it. However, I have several questions. Will a similar new product take its place? If a string level shut down device is available again will that satisfy 690.12 code requirements for roof mounted residential under NEC 2023 or NEC 2026 on it's own? Or does UL3741 come into play? For example, would a MidNite AIO with Unirac NXT racking (which is UL3741) with string level shut down and of course wiring everything nice and neat with appropriate listed wire management comply with NEC under 2023 or 2026 code? I'm just trying to figure out if string level shut down is a viable option with new code cycles or if it is a waste of time. thank you -- Brett Stigile Owner/Renewable Energy Electrician 503-317-7950 [email protected] Oregon Sun Wrangler LLC CCB: 240661 License: 66LRT NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification: PV 100414-008123 _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance Pay optional member dues here: http://re-wrenches.org List Address: [email protected] Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org There are two list archives for searching.
