I just replaced them with new modules which increased the output by 50%!

Were you able to do a warranty replacement, or did you just replace them outside the warranty?
Thanks,

I had a 17 year old rack of 80 watt Shell modules fail. They were in 4 module series strings and each string had 1 or 2 modules fail taking out the entire array.

Greetings Fellow Installers;

I have an old system with 24 Shell SP 140 modules from the mid 2000s
that are at 30% rated output. I have 2 questions:
1) Has anyone else seen failures of the Shell modules? They do not
appear to otherwise have any visible issues. I have even older Arco and
Siemens modules that look terrible, but are still at 80% or better output.

2) I know that Solarworld bought Shell Solar, and that they are now also
out of business, is there any warranty still available, or was the 25
year warranty just blowing smoke?

Thanks in advance for your replies,

Ray Walters
