Nothing like trial by fire to expose bugs.  I rolled Sean's update out to my
site assuming it would work.  Unfortunately, Sean's changes exposed a bug in
the abstractMetadata object. I've fixed and committed this bug.

These caching updates are in SVN now so please pull down the latest
version and test, test, test! (There are actually a couple of other
minor changes too, including the record XSL change for loading records
via non-primary keys that was discussed here a while back)
