Good suggestion, but that setting was already unchecked on my development machine. I hate caching in a development environment ;-)

make sure "save java class files" is unchecked on the caching page in cf administrator!

That's where CF puts all the Java it generates after reducing a CF page down to bytecode.

It IS good practice to delete all of them, because once in a while CF will keep something it should blitz.

PS - Alas, mappings sounded good. I do still recommend you alter the required files to returntype="any" for just long enough to cfdump what comes back and find out what is being returned.

I don't use mappings, I have both reactor, and Model Glue in the root of my

webserver (and it works, too, I seem to remember a conversation about that

;-)

So no mappings, and the mode is in development.

I am sure there is a simple solution. Can't be a real Reactor error, I am

sure of that. But what is it then...

Right now, I am thinking of some strange caching behaviour. The first error

disappeared when I saved a file after putting a cfdump in it. When I removed

the line a added, converting it back to the original state, the error was

gone. So is there a way that CF caches files, even after restarting the

server?

Thanks for your help,

Erik-Jan

Two questions:

Would your mappings have changed?

What mode are you running reactor in? (i.e. production, development...) In

reactor what is the value for this: <mode value="development" />

I have had several problems like this in the past, but they always end up

having simple solutions.

Strange things are happening here... While debugging, suddenly my error

changed. The error now no longer says:

Could not find the ColdFusion Component model.data.Gateway.UserGatewaymysql .

That one is gone, but now I am looking at:

The value returned from function createGateway() is not of type

reactor.base.abstractGateway.

I can not believe that this is really the case, but I really don't know what

is happening... Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Erik-Jan

Did you reload model-glue too?

Subject: [Reactor For CF] Strange problem after updating Reactor

Hi all,

With all of the updates to Reactor, I thought it would be wise to update one

of the apps I am working on, that uses Model Glue with Reactor.

I deleted all the current Reactor files, and copied the latest version from

SubVersion in the directory.

But now, when I run the app, I get the following error on initialization of

the app:

Could not find the ColdFusion Component model.data.Gateway.UserGatewaymysql.

When I look at the directory, the file is there, but CF does not seem to

find it. Have I made an obvious mistake, or is something else wrong here?

Hope you can help,

Kind regards,

Erik-Jan Jaquet
