I’ll be moving this site to CrystalTech as well… It won’t work huh?

Even if you have Reactor in the root, the CF server will follow the mapping (someone else’s) first?

Is that the issue?

In terms of negotiating with them, what exactly is it we need them to do?

Thanks,
Thomas

The problem is ... if you don't set up the mapping, someone else might and then you're screwed, right?

Why set up a mapping at all?  Reactor doesn't need one and it's inappropriate on a shared server.

You are using CrystalTech... right?

I am with them also...until the end of next month, that is.

I was able to complain and bitch, ask for a supervisor, threaten to leave them... that sort of thing... and they eventually moved my site to a server that did not have reactor mapped...so that I could map it and perpetuate the problem for others (perhaps for you).

Ultimately, the solution is to move to another provider and make sure CrystalTech knows the reason. When they lose enough customers, they will rethink their policy.

Good Luck,

Hi All,

This is my first post to the list.

I've been using Reactor moderately with some of my work related projects

and rather enjoy it.

I have now developed an app (using Reactor) that is to be hosted on a

shared server. Now is where I kick myself in the butt for not doing better

research before hand!

The server that I'm using, of course, already has a /reactor mapping. Not

good. I've read some of the posts on this list regarding this subject and

I think the conclusion is that I'm pretty well hosed.

I've exchanged emails with the hosting company and the reply is "Again, I

am sorry, but the server mapping is a first come, first serve bases..."

This is in reply to my requesting that they remove that mapping on the

server and prevent it from being created again.

So before I throw in the towel and remove Reactor from the app, does

anyone have any last ideas? The mapping takes precedence, so I can't

really see anyway around this other then hacking up Reactor.
