Lol, love 'em. I recently had a client ask me why the excel downloads
for a system I wrote weren't working on their pc at home; I asked them
what version of excel they were using, 'I don't have excel at home'
came the response - oiveh!

Yeh, I guess the problem there is the way in which data is being
copied over from the dupe table to the live table if you really can't
add a pk. If its done using SQL (i.e. the easy way) then adding the
surrogate PK wouldn't be a problem and should be the way to go. Sounds
like world of Holy fun ;)
