Okay, your argument makes sense.  Yes, let's make that change.

But think there should be a warning, at least the first time.  That way, if 
someone accidentally does:

define f(x)
  myfunction a

  myfunction b


They'll get a warning that they were supposed to put something on the blank 
line between "myfunction a" and "myfunction b".
