Yes, the support forum hosted by REAL is pretty active and I seem to get
answers to questions from RB employees more quickly than on this list. And
the response time on the list from an RB employee isn't to shabby anways.
I would prefer the support forum to this list since the forum is easily
seachable for past answers and responses to questions are all kept in the
thread.
Right now I use GMail to manage my RB mail lists and that works good but I
do prefer the on-line forum.

i know you're just starting this Lynn, but i for one tend to forget about

forget about bb. you might want to consider this.
If the content is interesting or critical enough, they will come :-)
Listservs are well loved by many but they have major disadvantages.
As for me, I do not understand why Forums do not offer feature as:
* inform me on ANY change.
Exists only feature:
inform me on response to my message
I agree with Mike that if on forum have come some message, you can see that
ONLY when you self come to forum. There is no any "Event-fire" system
Ruslan is 100% right !
AFAIU, Forum need you to be online - all the time (to be able to "the forum is
easily seachable for past answers and responses to questions are all kept in the
thread.") - instead of this list: download the Digests (or individual mails),
send your pre-written messages (answers + questions + [ANN] + whatever) go
offline and read when you want.
BTW: Dean, get individual messages and you could do: "the forum is easily
seachable for past answers and responses to questions are all kept in the
thread." as well with this List. Also, you have a searchable site (see address
at the bottom of each mail).
Please, no war: Forum vs List. But, keep in mind that some people do not have a
24 / 7 / 365-366 internet connection :(
And, some people do not have time to waste to read each and every messages in
each and every thread...
Emile
