OK, all this talk about RB not being able to develop world class
application is total bull!
I have used RB in conjunction with other tools to create an
application that interfaces with communication systems to deliver
software a package that provides operators with total control of their
communication network allowing them to route calls view call logs,
trace VOIP calls, do billing and tons of other features. The base price
for this app is in the tens of thousands thats just the server
software. It is currently being used by one company in three of their
CO's in 3 states with 2 more states to go online by summer time. While
the back end off the application, some of which was done with RB is a
niche application. The GUI is universal by that I mean how quickly the
GUI was able to be developed tested and refined and the fact the
operator and monitoring software is not limited to a single platform
without having to make large amounts of coding changes (again thanks to
RB). In my opinion RB, yes does have things to work on but every
application in the world has things that need to be added, fixed, or
adjusted. Bottom line RB is a great tool in any developers tool bag. I
say tool bag because any developer who sticks to a single development
environment is limiting their applications potential.
"The tool should fit the JOB!"
