I'm not so sure about that. The existing code leverages the Carbon frameworks, which requires a lot less code than accessing the Cocoa ones. If anything, I'd expect the Cocoa runtime to be bigger. Its main advantage is that it makes it easier in some ways to support Intel Macs.

So what's the reason to replace Carbon by Cocoa?
