That's right -- this is a feature that prevents password sniffing. As the status on report zqkatwcb indicates, this is not a bug. What you need to do is file a feature request for some other way to tell whether Caps Lock is down when a password field has the focus.

Or, perhaps the best solution IMHO, simply make your passwords case-insensitive. I don't buy the argument that supporting case makes passwords significantly more secure, but it does make them significantly more of a PITA.
