I think that will make everyone happy and reduce flame levels ;-) It is really, really easy to make a test designed for a single product to pass, especially "in the lab". For example, when Valentina entered the Macromedia Director market several years ago, the leader in that market at the time stated they could import a million records and do some operations, because of Valentina's claims at the time. Fortunately it didn't take too long "outside the lab" for users to conclude that Valentina is the best choice for huge dbs.
A test suite will at least be some initial validation of any claims.
