Actually, you can grab the source code for Aaron's ServiceManager application to see how it's done code-wise. It's quite detailed and well described.

But, probably your best bet is to try the ready-to-use modules/classes from Aaron's Windows Functionality Suite[1] to do your service registration. It's quite straight forward (IIRC, you'll need the module ServiceManager and the class Service).
