Jonathan,
Thanks again for the info, but I believe you're misunderstanding my
request (or, as is very possible, I'm not wording it correctly). I
need to create an application that *becomes* a Windows System
Service, and registers itself with the operating system to run as a
System Service.
Regards,
Michael

Michael,
Well, I understand, but its not a service as it is all embedded
into the RB application. I too did not want to go to a service, I
wanted it all embedded into the application.
Other then what I have that I got via Phil M using his
PHPRegistration code, I am sorry but not sure of what else there is.
I have modified his code for my use, if you care to look at it,
here it is. There is a readme file to aid in installing it and
adding the code to an RB project. This is the same code used in my
App that I showed you earlier.

I hope this helps,
Jonathon

Jonathan,
Call me paranoid, but i'd rather not *run* a "random" executable
that becomes a service if it's all the same. ;) I would
appreciate, however, if you could point me to some quality
instruction regarding the technique(s) involved.
Thanks,
Michael

Michael,
I have a program that has a self Registration process that you
can look at. Here is the program that I created using it.

Let me know if this is something you are looking for. Try the
program for the registration process, then let me know.

Keith,
Thanks for the link, however, that's not exactly what I'm
looking for. Close though. What I need is the ability
*through code* to have a program register *itself* as a
service. I don't want to rely on some *other* program to do
that for me. If you have a link to a quality tutorial or
something on this subject specifically that would be great.

Michael
