Hi Sean:
I can probably answer that as well, since I've had mine since Wednesday
(yeah, I know... the Windows support manager buying a Mac... I've
already heard it from my co-workers).
UB apps are pleasantly faster. Maybe one dock bounce to get iChat and
Safari open. Office 2004 apps open a little bit faster as well. You'll
occasionally see the beach ball when working with some non UB apps,
particularly Thunderbird.
Overall, the machine is stable and a worthy replacement for a PowerBook.
It runs hotter, so I wouldn't recommend much lap time.
The lit keyboard is a bit brighter, and still looks great. It's a tad
too sensitive to the ambient light for my taste, but that's likely
adjustable. Frankly, I'm surprised that other vendors haven't copied
this feature yet. It's so obvious.
The break-away magnetic power connector has already saved me once. :-)
This is a truly high-class machine. Definitely the future.

The real question is why should MS rush out a UB version of Office? Would
it make them more money? Probably not. People aren't going to pay for an
upgrade that only supplies Intel support. So where does that leave MS.
Exactly where they are. Planning to deliver a UB with the next release.
I just bought a MacBook, I was willing to buy a new copy of Office to
get UB support, but didn't because UB isn't available. I'll continue
to use my ancient version of Office and upgrade it when UB becomes
available.
Assuming that the UB upgrade costs less than the current version of
Office, MS is leaving money on the table.
Ooooh, how is it Joe? The macbook I mean.
