I run RB2006 on an iMac G5 2GHz (last generation without a camera)
with 1GB ram. I am not sure how to compare the size of a RB
application but my largest is a 2.3 mb .rbp. I use RB professionally
and I am very happy with the speed of RB for everyday use.
Here are a few very unscientific benchmarks calculated with a stopwatch.
Open 2.3 mb .rbp file w/ RB NOT running - 17 seconds
Open 2.3 mb .rbp file w/ RB running - 4 seconds
Build 2.3mb .rbp file 10 seconds.
These were calculated with iTunes, Firefox, Mail, and Transmit
running in the dock. Hope it helps.

I'm not sure about the tax benefits in the States or wherever you
are, but in Australia Lease payments are a 100% tax deduction, so
as long as I keep making money and paying my tax this machine (20"
iMac G5 last rev. with 1.5GB RAM) isn't going to cost me anything.
I'll buy a Core Duo when RB and my Adobe suite run natively (or
maybe I'll do another lease... I'm waiting to see how beneficial
leasing equipment is for me, but so far it's been pretty cheap).

under Rosetta sounds like death to me. I hate to guy a G5 this
late but I
have to stay productive while I pine away for UB version of RB
late in the
year.
Any real life experience on or off list would be really appreciated,
