Sorry, there is no way I can do that. I am using a custom canvas to
draw from a recursive function, i.e. I have graphical objects that I
insert into this canvas and the canvas draws it self. Thats why I
need to get that picture out of the canvas, short of taking a screen
capture :)

Of course it all depends on what you are doing. But generally I'd
say using a buffering system
like that would be your best bet.
