Can you run an Applescript from within RB2006 without any plug ins
and if you can is there an online reference someplace as to how it's
done?

You can also run AS with the shell as in

  dim theShell as new Shell
theShell.execute "/usr/bin/osascript -e '" + ScriptText + "'" 'Script Text contains the text of the script

But you need to take care of ", encodings and returns.

References:
- The AppleScript book by Matt Neuburg gives you the basics of this really annoying language. - www.macscripter.net has examples for everything in the Script Builders section.

Have fun with AppleScript!
