In further testing that does seem consistent for pictures obtained
from OpenAsPicture.
Interestingly there's no crash when scanning an embedded picture of
the exact same file dragged into the project. But I'm building on Mac
and running on Windows. so the OpenAsPicture function in the Mac IDE
may behave differently than the OpenAsPicture in the Windows runtime.
Also note that the crash only occurs for certain size jpg files. It
crashed consistently for any 640x480 jpg I could find and also for
1280x960 jpgs. (Note the even size multiple between pictures which
cause the crash.)
Thanks for your help in characterizing the problem better. I'll go
add this to the bug report.
