Phil M, The reasons you cite are the ones that have me leaning towards RB too. Development using Xcode can be fast but, at least in my hands, it's not nearly as rapid as with RB. (I'm sure those with much more experience will either will debate this)
Performance? For most of the things I've done with both RB and Xcode speed has never been an issue. I'm excluding my abandoned foray into experimenting with writing a basic chess engine. (At least I made it through move generation ;-) . Anyway, for me that exercise really pointed out the speed differences between RB and obj-c.) I don't really care much about the cross platform ability but can see how it could be of paramount importance to some. Like you, none of my apps have pushed the boundaries of what RB was built to do. Still on the fence for now... ;-) Phil B. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/RB-5.5.5-%28vs.-RB-2006%29--t1304000.html#a3501419 Sent from the REALBasic - Users forum at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives of this list here: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
