The sad thing about this thread (and others like it that have cropped up over the last 7-8 months) is that it appears to have driven most of the
RealSoftware guys away.

At least they don't post much anymore.

Well that's a shame, because they used to. Of course there are a couple of reasons for this:

1) Advent of the forums, where they can moderate or remove unfavourable stuff
2) The arrival of new users from different platforms

Is there a link? Some of the old hands would probably say yes.

My stars, I've even seen vicious personal attacks in the NUG. Prior to last
summer, that was unheard of on this list. As least as far as my feeble
memory allows.

Yes, that is very bad, and as far as I see, it's from relative newcomers. But I make a note of them, and vow never to buy their software.

Ah, the Good Old Days.

Indeed. For various reasons I've been out of the Rb loop for 3 years, and this is definitely a changed place, as is RS.

A lot has changed, but it really is unclear whether 200x really works properly or not, and with no RS feedback, that doesn't make things easier. Now we have the UB problem, again with little info, and it seems there's probably no point in coding for OS X with Rb at the moment if Apple are getting heavy (and so is most of the rest of the media), so that's one upgrade licence lost.

Since XP is now running on Macs, perhaps I should look at just coding for that...
