One of mine (6 mb) takes 25 seconds, no externals, very few pictures.
But if I kill FontAgent Activator it opens in 10 seconds... I think
I've mentioned this before (5.5?), but with Suitcase.

Only if it takes more than an instant, which opening a project
really shouldn't.
I've got some pretty huge projects that open instantly. I wonder
what's different about your projects, that they take so long as to
want a progress bar?
