And I've learned that if I use the QT Declares to load the samples in
20-second chunks (by specifying a variable start time and a 20-second
duration to Addey's routine), I do indeed get 53:15 worth of samples,
and there are no extraneous zeros at the end. I can scan those
samples at 44,100. Yet another solution and mystery.
