Of course, there are some new features in RB 2005 and 2006 (like
the HTMLviewer) that are not supported in Classic. You will just
have to plan around that sort of issue.
My current app runs in Classic, but when I release the next major
upgrade, I plan to drop the Classic version (though the previous
version will continue to work for any of my Classic users).
It really depends on your audience, and how much effort you have to
use to support each version. For instance, I don't have a Linux
version yet, because I don't have a test platform available.
Hi Brad,
Yes that's true. Considering I will already be supporting OSX, XP and
Linux, maybe supporting OS9 would be over-stretching things somewhat.
Plus, having to boot up to OS9 every time I'd need to test (as I
don't think that running an OS9 app in an OSX environment is a true
benchmark?) will soon lose its novelty.
Hmm, I guess ultimately I'll be governed by demand so I'll have to
wait and see... (Once I've finished porting and improving my app in
RB that is! lol)
All the best,
Mark.
