I have often wondered about this and I have to say that I still
cannot understand it.
Why on earth do we have platform menu editor where one can select the
platforms and see the menus if it cannot be used to handle the
platform differences ?
Example:
I put "Quit" in the File Menu on MacOS X (Yes I know that this
one I can do with constants)
Then I select Windows to see the Windows menus and I change the
Quit to Exit there.
Now I change back to MacOS X menus and I will have Exit.
Example 2:
I put about menu on MacOS X in the Edit Menu and have its super
set as AppleMenuItem so it will
go where About menu should go on MacOS X. (On MacOS X I have no
Help Menu).
On Windows I create Help menu and drag the About menu to there.
Now I change back to MacOS X, and I Get the Help Menu and the
About menu has been put there.
Can someone explain to me just what the purpose of the Platform
selector on the Menu designer is if it does not seem to be able to
handle any platform differences ?
