From the RB 2006r2 release notes:

[Nte] [All] REALSQLDatabase: Updated to most recent version of SQLite (3.2.7)

The most recent SQLite version is 3.3.5. Version 3.3.4 was released two months ago.

 sqlite_version(*) returns 3.2.8 in RB 2006r1 and RB 2006r2.

And answering my own questions. In the release notes are the notes of release 1 attached. So shame on me for finding a small typo only.

But anyway: Are there plans to include newer SQLite versions? I know that the file format changed: "Databases created by version 3.3.0 will not be readable or writable by earlier versions of the SQLite. The older file format can be specified at compile-time for those rare cases where it is needed." But staying with an somewhat outdated version will cut us off from improvements and bug fixings.
