Emile, this call,

Serial1.Write("ATI0" + ChrB(13)+ChrB(10))

produces this answer for me.

56000
With a PowerBook 15" 1.5GHz alu, modem build before August 2004 ?
[I got 960 there; but I have many troubles with the modem connected to the internet; so troubles that I have to use a Pentium IV machine to do that... disconnect (modem hangup it says) after from some 30 seconds to some minutes...]

I tried ATZ - no success-; AT&F (factory reset) - no success - I'm lost :(

And if I might ask a question from this thread to the NUG. After I send my name
and password I get this message from the server,

Exiting shell, and starting PPP session.

This is followed by gobbledy gook,

~=9D}#=BF!}!}!} }8}!}$}%=D0}"}&} }*} } }%}&G=A0/0}'}"}(}"=DF}4~~=9D}#=BF!}!}"}
}8}!}$}%=D0}"}&} }*} } }%}&G=A0/0}'}"}(}"=CC=DC~~=9D}#=BF!}!}#} ... etc.

I've tried at this point spawning a new instance of TCPSocket with no
results. Perhaps I need the secure, pro only Rb, version to continue?
