The only I could say, you are NOT familiar with the problem (and the
question) that started this thread.

Well, for me, it all boils down to the question: Is it useful to
restrict the open dialog to files with certain extensions, precluding
other (otherwise perfectly acceptable) files from being opened. From the
very post that started this thread, I got the impression that that is
what you wanted -- or is it something else?

In my case I have an menu item 'Insert Text from Word XML'. And when the user clicked on that menu item, he should select an xml file. And in this case when he select an xml file from the DialogBox, my app is open the xml file, check if it is an 'Word XML' file and if so, I have some functions that grab the Text from the xml file add CSS classes, and do some other things, and the to the last insert the Text in the Editfield.

So my problem and question was:
How do I write an OpenDialog filter so the user only could select xml files?
I explained that i found an 'workaround' when i create the filter...

And that generate, I don't know 70 -100 nonsense e-mails..
And it look that many said this is Not Mac like.
And it also looks that the mostly think that you could also only create ONE filter in your app.
And 5-6 hours reading/writing e-mails...
