Thanks to all who replied about 5.5.5 vs RB2006r2.

I have a better understanding as to why some now
stick to 5.5.5. So, my next question is...

I'm nearly finished writing a cross-platform toolbar class
for my app, which I was thinking of releasing for
others to use and it was coded in RB2006r2. Should
I download 5.5.5 and "fix" it so the classes work in
5.5.5 as well as RB2006r2 (probably the main problems
would be default property values?) or just say on
the download that it requires RB2006r2 or greater?

I am using RB55 for real projects - ie paid consulting - but using RB2006 for my private projects.

I suspect that RB 55 will be phased out by RB2006r3/4. ie the next three/five months. Anybody using RB55 by Sept/Oct will not buy your software so don't bother with them.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
