There was many moons ago.
I wrote an LDAP plugin a long time ago
it could be updated, and it may even be able to be done with declares
(at least on OS X)
There's something called OpenLDAP (http://www.openldap.org/) that
could perhaps be rolled into an RB plugin, if the license allows it.
LDAP headers and such are included with OS X.
And I do have code available for an older plugin on my web site

It just needs an update.
This might just be a good time for me to sit and write a new plugin
using XCode
