well, in java it is possible to add constants to an interface (not
properties) however, it is usually referred to as an anti-pattern,
and you'll run into developers who will try to break your fingers (or
at least ridicule you) if they catch you doing it.
properties are an implementation detail, not an api, so they really
have no place in an interface. If you think your interface should
include some property, maybe it is best to have a getter and a setter
for said property, then it can be handled by the implementing class.
